How to add Instagram Reels back onto Grid
I accidentally clicked "remove from profile grid" on my latest reel and I was really upset, so through some reddit searches I have figured out a way to get it back on the grid.
Here is how to do it:
If you have an android phone (or you can borrow one from a friend/family member).
Download the previous version of Instagram for android (the August 2020 version) onto your phone via this link: https://instagram.en.uptodown.com/android/download/2380709
This will be saved as an .apk file.
Make sure you delete the latest version of Instagram - so you can install and login to the older version.
Once you log onto the old version of instagram (reels tab won't appear immediately, so give it a few minutes)
Click on the reel and then click the ... button, there will be an option to "Add to Profile Grid."
If you don’t have an android you have to download an "Android Emulator" for Mac called NoxPlayer. Drag the .apk file from downloads folder into NoxPlayer.
NoxPlayer opens up a screen on your Mac that looks like an android phone, and allows you to login to your instagram account.
Additional note: When downloading on your android, make sure 'unknown sources' is ticked for downloads
There are two options related to apk downloading and installing in Settings of Android devices.
Settings - Advanced settings - Security
- Download apps from unknown sources
- Install apps from unknown sources

DeleteYay it worked, I had to find my reel first from notification of those that liked it and then added it to my grid again. Otherwise I don't think it would have worked. I'm very happy 😊
DeleteCan absolutely confirm that this method works 100%!!! I was devestated when I removed my painting video from my profile grid because I didn’t think it would gain traction, so I was just going to post another Reel. Well, the one I removed from my profile grid gained 25,000 views!!!!

Side notes: I have iPhone and Mac, could not find Nox Player on the App Store. Luckily I had an old Galaxy s8 lying around. Downloaded the APK and it worked.
Extra side note: the reels tab was not showing up for me!!! So I went into my notifications and clicked on one of the likes where someone liked my video! My reel then popped up and I was able to click the 3 dots for the post settings, from there I clicked “Add to profile grid!!!!”

Any suggestions? I don't have an android. :(

ReplyDeleteJust did this about 20 seconds ago. It works, however the reels button never popped up, so instead i just got one of my friends to comment on my reels, and i used the comment notif to get to the reel and then i could add it back to profile grid! Super happy! Thanks!
