Hen Do’s & Hen Don’t’s: A Guide to Mykonos
When I had to organise my friends hen party in Mykonos, I immediately went online to research what to do and where to go, so I decided to create my own blog post about our experience to help other people planning a trip to Mykonos.
This was our Mykonos 🇬🇷 Hen Do Schedule
May 21-25 2019
Tuesday 21:
Depart London Gatwick at 14:30 with easyJet
Pick up Duty free at Gatwick 🍾🍷
Land Mykonos 20:20
Transfer to villa (provided by Villa Thelgo)
The driver kindly offered to take us to a really nice supermarket right next to the airport so we could buy food and alcohol etc, which was really handy as the villa isn’t that close to shops etc.
Arrive at beautiful Villa Thelgo.
Drinks 🥂🍾 on the terrace & a fun game for the hen.
*See end of blog for the game.
Wednesday 22:
I woke up badly bitten by mosquitoes - so I advice bringing lots of spray with you. I mentioned this to the lovely ladies who come to clean the villa daily & they kindly gave me loads of anti mosquito plugs & sprays etc, which made a big difference.
We hung out at the villa pool in the morning, some of the group walked to the local shop where you can get alcohol and essentials.
Next on the agenda: explore the local beach, luckily Villa Thelgo provides transport all over the island for a reasonable cost, so anytime we wanted to go anywhere we just had to call them to organise it. We needed 2 vans as we were a group of 10 girls.
View From Villa Thelgo
When we arrived I immediately noticed a super chic upscale shopping area right next to Nammos at Psarou beach. Think Louis Vuitton, Dior etc.
We had lunch at a local restaurant, hung out, swam and had a few drinks.
After this we headed back to the villa to shower, change and get ready to go into Mykonos Town.
I suggest you go earlier to stroll around before dinner & soak up the atmosphere/enjoy the sunset.
We had dinner and drinks at Nice N Easy - a lovely organic restaurant close to the water.
We then enjoyed waking around the old town and headed to a beautiful bar called Mamalouka for cocktails.
After this we headed to Scandinavian Bar to party. This was a really fun and wild atmosphere.
There are plenty of nice places to go in Mykonos Town and it has such a lovely atmosphere to walk around and enjoy the local shops:
Sunset 🌅 Cocktails at Katerina’s bar
Negrita
180 - nice bar with sunset views
Dinner at Caprice Sea Satin market (under windmills by the water)
Thursday 23:
Late lunch at Nammos Beach club 🏖 2pm Party atmosphere starts at around 17:30
We hung out at the beach, had a swim, some drinks and enjoyed the afternoon.
We then headed straight to Scorpios for sundowners, which was amazing.
Such a cool place full of the coolest people. Loveliest sunset vibes and the highlight of my trip.
Friday 24:
We did a fun hen do photo shoot at the villa pool with Bride Squad swimsuits we got from Primark before the trip.
We also had some champagne and Prosecco to celebrate a birthday.
In the early evening we headed to Paradise Beach Club & later onto Tropicana, further up the beach.
Paradise Beach Club has a party atmosphere with 2-4-1 cocktails. It has quite a chavvy vibe to it. Definitely not cool and classy like Scorpios. But still fun for a night.
Saturday 25:
Transfer to airport - 10:40 arrival - depart 12:40 Mykonos-London 14:35
As I said above, all transport was dealt with by Villa Thelgo - they were super flexible and helpful and so easy to use for transport all over the island. We would just call and text whenever we needed them. We went in low season, so they were always readily available - not sure what high season would be like?
